As a “thank you” to our membership, we are celebrating another successful year at SIM and would like to invite the members and their guests to our complimentary Winter Social. This year’s social is being held on Wednesday, February 15th at the Metropolitan Capital Bank. The Bank has renovated this building at 9 E Ontario. During their renovation they restored the property back to its original period. They also have a strong tie to the arts community and have launched “Arts Work Chicago” which enables them to feature rotating exhibitions of work from Chicago artists which they display in their workplace.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to network with your colleagues and for all of us to look forward to a prosperous 2012. Remember, this event is complimentary, but reservations are mandatory.

The Arts & Business Council of Chicago (A&BC) recruits and trains skilled volunteers from Chicago’s business sector; A&BC connects these eager volunteers with the city’s many diverse nonprofit arts/culture organizations seeking help in building and sustaining themselves as institutions. For nearly a quarter of a century, A&BC has been fostering volunteer involvement in the arts.

What You've Missed

The SIM Downtown Social was held at the Metropolitan Capital Bank. The bank, historically used as a creative haven for artists, has been fully restored to period-correct architecture and is adorned throughout with art from accomplished Chicago-based artists. The evening included dinner, cocktails, conversation, and a full tour of the facilities including a tour of the on-site art studios and garden area used by the artists that created the displayed art. SIM also presented the Arts and Business Council of Chicago with a $5,000 donation in support of its activities.
