Board Election Announcement 2011
The 2011 SIM Chicago Board Election was held on November 17 at the start of the Healthcare Panel event. Four nominations were put forward for consideration by the general membership, and the members in attendance unanimously approved all four.
The Programs Board roles were expanded from two to three positions to better support the growing SIM Chicago program calendar. Don Schmidt was re-elected as Co-VP of Programs. Tim Waterloo and Daniel VonderHeide were also newly elected for Co-VP of Programs roles. Both Tim and Daniel have been active during the past year helping with Program activities and are leaders in the Chicagoland IT community. Tim Waterloo is a long-time SIM Chicago member and is president of Oak Enterprises. Daniel VonderHeide is Director of Infrastructure Services at Loyola University and is an award-winning IT leader and recent RLF graduate. Don Schmidt, who has tirelessly led the Programs area for the past two years, will continue in his leadership role working with Tim and Daniel. Don is the Director of IT Business Process, Governance and Administration, at Briggs Corporation.
Paul Corning was re-elected to his current role of Treasurer. Paul has diligently maintained the financial records for SIM Chicago during the past two years and has helped the Board accurately manage the chapter finances. Paul is the Managing Director of Covenant Technology Partners.
This year’s election continues to strengthen the SIM Chicago Board and will provide strong and consistent leadership to ensure that SIM Chicago remains a relevant and vibrant network of IT professionals. Congratulations to all of the elected Board members.
