SIM In The Suburbs is please to present Jennifer Scanlon, Vice President and CIO for USG Corporation. Jennifer will be sharing how USG is committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction and quality in everything they do. She will be sharing their vision to be the easiest company to do business with in the industry that they executed through a four-year business and technology program. Over 2 million person-hours and over $200 MM was spent bringing the vision to life at over 70 North American locations.

In her role as Vice President and CIO of USG Corporation, Jennifer oversees corporate-wide strategic planning, including executive level direction for strategy formulation, strategy process improvements and communication of strategy on a worldwide basis.

Prior to this role, she was responsible for planning and managing LinX — a four-year project that positioned USG to improve customer satisfaction and increase operational efficiencies across manufacturing, supply-chain, customer service, sales, and HR functions. LinX implemented Oracle-based solutions across over 70 North American sites.

Ms. Scanlon graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1988 with a B.A. in government and computer applications. She earned an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago in 1992.

Prior to joining USG in January 2003, Ms. Scanlon was a senior vice president for Bricker & Associates, Inc., which later became Keane Consulting Group, a management consulting firm that specialized in assisting Fortune 500 organizations dramatically increase profits through operational improvement. USG was one of her clients for 6 years. Before joining Bricker, Ms. Scanlon worked for IBM in technical operations and consulting roles.

Ms. Scanlon resides in Evanston, Illinois with her husband Peter and two young daughters. Ms. Scanlon is involved in the Chicago technology community as a member of the Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors. She serves on the board of SHORE Community Services, Inc. a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing educational, training, residential and vocational services for the developmentally disabled. Ms. Scanlon also serves on the Board of Governors of Lumity, a not-for-profit dedicated to providing organizational capacity support, including technological and financial solutions, for the not-for-profit community in Chicago. She enjoys competing in triathlons.
