Premier Executive Event: Your Organization and Cyber Crime - What to Do

  • Union League Club Chicago - Grand Ballroom (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Learn from the US Secret Service, Gartner, the State of Illinois, and Dentons’ partner in charge of Cyber-Crime about how your organization should be thinking about Cyber-Crime and what you should be doing about it.

This event is a non-technical discussion about enterprise risk management for C-level executives.  Presented jointly by SIM Chicago and FEI Chicago in an exclusive refined environment, this unique event presents the topic of Cyber-Security from executive-focused perspectives by an exclusive panel of experts not typically found in Chicagoland.  Come and join us for this exclusive event.

Never has the risk to your company from cybercrime been higher, and never have the stakes been higher.  Companies today run on information, and the ability to manage and secure that information directly affects your company’s brand, its reputation, and its market cap.
Using real-world case studies as examples, you will learn from experts about how your cyber security program fits into your overall corporate risk profile, about current best practices related to effectively managing your cyber risk, about what to do and not do if a cybercrime event occurs, and about new and emerging cyber security trends and regulatory changes that can affect your company.

SIM Breakfast with CIO of the Year

SIM in the Suburbs Breakfast December 7th 2017.png

Topic: Game Changer: Digital Transformation with a Customer-Focused Culture

Mobile adoption is influencing every aspect of customer needs and expectations. As this shift occurs, IT must create an ecosystem that continuously delivers an exceptional customer experience, incorporating the latest digital innovations and cognitive technologies.

Customers are looking for extreme convenience, secure transactions, and relevant real-time offers in support of their “always-on” lifestyle. They want personalized interactions that make them feel understood and important. Complexity breeds inefficiency, so to deliver these innovations fast, CIOs must drive simplicity end-to-end, focusing on product features versus projects and streamlining the delivery model.

IT leadership must also mobilize the organization to embrace change – cultural alignment is equally as important as platform modernization. Transforming the IT organization to focus on the customer at its center can be a challenge, but in the end, will create the most rewarding and successful relationships.

2017 SIM Chicago Fall Gala

Think Like a Champion.jpg

Topic: Think Like A Champion

Jim Fannin coaches champions. For 43-years he has helped over 2000 clients set personal, team and world records. “Jim Fannin knows the Zone! He helped me reach the Hall of Fame. I owe everything to Jim,” says former Chicago White Sox MVP Frank Thomas.

The champions Jim coaches think differently than everyone else. They think less and produce more. In fact, when two people have the same experience and talent, it is thinking like a champion that becomes the difference maker.

With masterful storytelling, proprietary knowledge and decades of experience of coaching the world’s best performers, Mr. Fannin will reveal the five intangibles all champions possess. They are Self-discipline, Concentration, Optimism, Relaxation and Enjoyment. Once these markers are balanced, the peak performance mindset called the Zone arrives. It is here that records are broken and dreams come true.

The Zone is NOT limited to superstar athletes. In fact, you will leave our September 21, 2017 event thinking like a champion with proven, concrete tools and techniques to insure these champion qualities are maximized.

Changing the Game in Illinois: Innovation With Constraints

In early 2015, Illinois started at the bottom 4th of 50 states in technology rankings. Within 18 months, by Q4 of 2016, Illinois moved up to the top 3rd. A lot of work got done along the way. Key ingredients for this stellar success were, Governor’s executive sponsorship, an amazing team that came together from inside and outside the government, a business mindset for running technology, a heavy focus on comprehensive digital transformation and many more. Along the way, Illinois also established itself as the first Smart State in the country and established national and international partnerships for that.
