Press Release SIM Chicago Kicks Off CIO of the Year Awards with Spring Kickoff Gala - Chicago, IL – April 18, 2024 SIM Chicago, a leading professional association for technology leaders, held a vibrant Spring Gala on Thursday, April 18th at the Marriott Chicago O'Hare with many of the Chicagoland area’s top IT executives in attendance. This exclusive event also marked the kickoff the 2024 CIO of the Year Awards, led by SIM Chicago in partnership with AITP Chicago and The Executives Club of Chicago. Chicago’s esteemed CIO community came together to connect, celebrate, and nominate their peers for special recognition and prestigious awards pertaining to innovation, impact, and exceptional leadership. Winners will be recognized at the CIO of the Year Awards Gala in November. The evening began with open networking over hors d'oeuvres and beverages and featured an engaging keynote address and fireside chat with Haven Allen, Co-Founder and CEO of mHUB, a leading innovation center in Chicago. Additionally, an interactive panel discussion featuring 2023 CIO of the Year Award winners, including Angela O’Banion of Cook County Health, Kevin Rooney of West Monroe Partners, and Raj Sampoornam of Byline Bank, gave some extremely valuable best practice insights from seasoned leaders within their respective industries. Attendees received a comprehensive overview of the nomination process and concluded the night with the ability to nominate outstanding leaders for four distinct awards:
