“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill Philanthropy is becoming increasingly important for businesses of all sizes. There has been a strong, positive trend to give back to our communities to address crucial needs. Philanthropic activities are not only beneficial to the recipients, they help set an organization apart. They help build community, create connections, strengthen a brand, and help to build customer loyalty. A simple act of caring creates an endless ripple effect.
One of SIM’s leading values is to give back to the community. We do so through donations of time and money supporting STEM initiatives, scholarships and technology related needs. SIM and its 43 chapters contributed more than $1.5 million in 2019. SIM Chicago is prioritizing our philanthropy activities during November.
Please join us for a special panel discussion with giving leaders from three Chicago organizations. You will learn about innovative approaches they’ve used to spur employee participation and generosity and gain ideas and inspiration for give-back programs in your organization - there is something everyone can do!

Panelists include (pictured left to right): Yemi Akisanya – Head of Diversity and Inclusion at OCC Scott Boruff – Partner at PwC Leslie Vickrey – CEO and Founder at ClearEdge Marketing | ARA Co-Founder Moderator:
Tim Waterloo - President, Oak Enterprises & SIM Chicago Board Member
After the session, we will open the room for networking. We hope you can join us for this session.
