SIM Chicago celebrates the holidays with wine and community. Please plan to join us on December 8, 2021, with your plus-one for this interactive event to learn about the Wines from Around the World. Countries represented are Uruguay, Portugal, U.S., South Africa, France, Austria, and Spain.

Hosting again this year, back by popular demand, are SIM Chicago's own Don Schmidt teaming up with Phil Grenier, the sommelier and sole proprietor of Wine Knows of Grayslake.

Make this an opportunity to expand your wine knowledge of wines from around the world, to explore a new topic or simply join friends. Either way, the holiday event is just in time to learn and ask questions of our knowledgeable hosts. Questions that may benefit you when pairing wines with foods, origins of grapes, or maybe understanding the difference between the various wine choices.

Wine Knows is the recipient of the Daily Herald’s Readers’ Choice Top Pick Award in 2017, 2019, and 2020. The award covers four northwestern suburbs, Lake, McHenry, DuPage and Kane. Phil is a native Chicagoan and a Cubs fan. Phil has been in the hospitality industry for nearly fifty years and has worked in restaurants, wineries and retail.

IN-PERSON ATTENDEES: There will be a delicious French Bubbly Rose served to all participants joining the in-person event at Wine Knows located at 1130 E. Washington St., Grayslake, IL 60030. We will be broadcasting live from Wine Knows the night of the event. If you are in the neighborhood and are interested in joining us in the retail store, while practicing social distancing guidelines, AND supporting a small business, please choose the "in-person" option when registering.

VIRTUAL ATTENDEES: Virtual attendees will be able to select up to two bottles of wine to be shipped to their home. There is a limited number of attendees receiving their complimentary wine to enjoy from their home. Register early to secure your preferred selection before the wine runs out. The call-in details will be e-mailed to you upon successful registration of the event.

For those not able to secure from our wine selection, we welcome you to grab a glass (or two) of your favorite wine and join us for this fun and educational event.
