Investing in our Future

SIM Chicago and our members are committed to improving the IT community and Chicago, so we give back in both time and money.  SIM partners with these organizations who are committed to promoting Chicagoland as a place to live and work - and to recognize and improve the pool of technology talent in the region.  

    
 

i.c.stars provides opportunities for inner-city young adults to harness the strength of technology for social and economic leadership.  By integrating technology training and leadership development, i.c.stars is shaping the next generation of technology leaders.  

SIM Chicago provides sponsorship, volunteers and employment opportunities for graduates of the i.c.stars program. Our members are encouraged to attend the i.c.stars "High Tea" sharing their life stories and paths to success with the i.c.stars interns.  SIM Chicago hosts an annual summer golf outing with proceeds benefiting i.c.stars

 

SIM Chicago sponsors scholarships at Loyola University Chicago and DePaul University to assist promising students as they pursue degrees and careers in Information Technology. Questions can be directed to philanthropy@sim-chicago.org.

The Arts & Business Council of Chicago (A&BC) links the strengths of the cultural and business sectors to promote community growth and vitality through the arts. By enlisting business volunteers to provide essential assessment, training, consulting and board service, A&BC enhances management capacity of art organizations while promoting a highly engaged form of business participation in the arts.SIM helps promote the A&BC by holding our Winter Social event at one of the A&BC member organization sites and providing a monetary donation towards their operation.

 

 

Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit organization that provides nutritionally compete meals formulated specifically for malnourished children. Donations to FMSC help purchase the meal ingredients and volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC partners around the world where kids are fed and lives saved. SIM members recently met at the FMSC facility in Schaumburg and spent 90 minutes packing meals destined for malnourished children. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home.

In 2019 SIM Chicago organized a giveback event where SIM members worked shoulder to shoulder for a day at Habitat for Humanity helping to change lives.
